Only a couple of weeks to go until we all Converge on Melbourne for NCYC09. It's going to be fantastic. Almost time to pack your bags, sunscreen, hat, Converge shirt, Bible, and toothbrush, and head on down / up / over.
Just a few important things to say...
Fed Square Rally
If you've got friends and family close to Melbourne, then the public rally at Federation Square on Tuesday 6 January will be huge. It kicks off at 6:30pm with Scat and Shane Claiborne. It's open to anyone and everyone, and is free. Spread the word.
NCYC [Live] Streaming
See, hear and feel the energy of NCYC09 from anywhere in the world, through NCYC [Live]. Different parts of the NCYC program will be streamed live or podcasted over the internet so your friends / church / community can be part of the action – and then use the videos as resources later on.
Subscribing online will give you access to several Bible Studies, available as a delayed download, and one bible study will be delivered to you in "real time". All this is accessed through the NCYC [Live] website, for a one-off subscription fee of $60.
As a bonus, you will have access to "real time" streams and delayed downloads of both the Whole Convention Gatherings and the nightly Worship services. Check the program on http://ncyc.org.au for exact times, or just subscribe now!
Big announcement! Day registrations
Know someone who wants a taste of NCYC, but can’t come for the full week?
Why not just register for a day?
NCYC has never been offered quite like this. Day registrations are now available for two days of the convention, so everyone has the chance to attend at least part of this life-changing event.
Day regos are available for Wednesday 7th from 2pm - 10pm, and Thursday 8th from 11am - 10pm. The cost is $65 per day, but you’ll need to make your own arrangements regarding meals – food vendors are nearby. Entry to MLC is via Barkers Road (Mel Ref 45 E8), but car parking isn’t available on site.
Register online now and click the Day Registrations option.
Pay Up!
Yep, can't say it simpler than that. If you've registered and paid in full, thanks heaps!!! If you've registered and haven't already paid in full, please do so, now. Thanks -- seriously. It helps to pay our many bills.
Registration day at Genezzano College
Registration for NCYC09 will take place on Saturday 3rd January from 10am to 3pm at Genezzano College. Please note, registration will NOT be taking place at MLC. If you're needing transport from the airport or train station out to Genezzano then please let the NCYC office know today (ie. yesterday!!!)
Genezzano is also in Kew -- located on the corner of Cotham Road and Mont Victor Rd, in Kew. The Melways reference is 45 J6 or just check it out on Google maps.
New song released by Simeon
One of NCYC09's biggest bands, Simeon, has just released an awesome new song -- Not Calming Down 4 Niger. Check it out on YouTube and go to http://www.simeon.cbm.org.au/ to find out how to make a difference for the people in the African country of Niger.
Registration Changes - No changes after this Friday
If you haven't already, go to the website before the end of the day on Friday and choose your preferences for Bible studies and Submersions. The quicker you get them in, the better chance you have of getting your top preference.
Checkout bible studies and submersions online for more details.
Please note also that you won't be able to change your preferences, or ANY PERSONAL DETAILS online after this Friday and you'll need to contact the office directly to do so.
Sign the 3 forms
If you haven't already, it'll speed up things a lot on registration day (3rd Jan) if you can sign the Participants Declaration form, the Photo release form and the Consent form which have been emailed to you. Email, fax or post them back to the NCYC office. If you've lost them, grab another copy off the website.
Opening worship
If you're close to Melbourne and not already attending NCYC, you might also like to come along to the opening worship, which takes place on Saturday 3rd January from 7pm at MLC -- cnr Barkers Road and Glenferrie Road in Kew. Rev Robyn Whitaker will be speaking, and you'll hear the NCYC band in full swing.
Pray
People and congregations right across Australia are praying for NCYC as we speak. It’s fantastic to have the event upheld in prayer, and we can’t wait to see the way the Gospel will come alive for young people during the week.
Late rego huh?
Yes, if you ask really nicely, you may just be able to still squeeze in for the week. But some bits are already full (like the 12-15 Surge program, and tenting accommodation only has a couple of spots left). So hurry, seriously, because there's a bit happening at the moment.
CONVERGE [LIVE]
The songbook and CD from our live recording concert are selling like hot cakes. So, grab a copy today, learn the songs beforehand, then get ready to belt them out at the big worships.
As a subscriber to the email update, you can download the title track CONVERGE for free! Just invite a friend to download the song too!
Converge [LIVE] is the limited edition CD that features great new worship music including Not Alone, Stories of Hope, Invitation, Together We Glorify Jesus, and Living for Heaven, and comes with a bonus DVD of the Live Recording Concert held in June. The accompanying songbook has sheet music and lyrics, so your congregation can start using the music before NCYC09!
You can also check out a trailer of the DVD at http://ncyc.org.au/converge-live/
The CD+DVD and songbook cost $35 each, or both for $65. Order online now at http://ncyc.org.au/shop or call the NCYC09 office on 1300 00 NCYC.
